Frequently asked questions
Languages connect people – and that’s exactly what our courses are designed to do. Whether you are new to Germany, want to expand your career internationally or want to develop your personal skills: Our language training courses pick you up at your individual language level and guide you step by step to confident communication.
You can choose from globally relevant languages such as English, German as a foreign language, French, Spanish and Italian. Depending on the courses on offer, you can choose between general language courses, job-specific training and preparation courses for language certificates.
Each course is assigned to a specific language level – from A1 for beginners to C2 for near native speaker competence. If you are unsure, you can take a short placement test. This allows you to start at the level that best suits your previous knowledge and enables you to make continuous progress.
In principle, you do not need any special previous knowledge. Motivation, a willingness to learn and enjoyment of new languages are the best basis. For advanced or certificate courses, basic knowledge at the previous level is helpful. For job-specific courses, completed training or experience in your professional field may also be an advantage.
Our courses are structured in such a way that you can gradually build up to the desired level – from A1 to C2. Whether it’s a basic course, intensive program or specialist language: at the end of your course, you will have demonstrable language skills that you can use confidently in your job, studies or everyday life.
The duration depends on the course format and learning pace. Compact beginner courses usually last four to eight weeks, while comprehensive programs run for up to four months. In part-time or part-time programs, the duration is extended accordingly – with flexible learning times and digital teaching units that adapt to your everyday life.
Our courses combine theory and application. You actively practise speaking, writing, reading and understanding in interactive lessons. Role-plays, dialogs and work-related scenarios ensure that you can actively use the language from the very beginning.
Language skills are an asset in almost all professional fields today. They improve your chances on the job market, facilitate international cooperation and demonstrate strong communication skills. If you have a good command of a foreign language, you can take on new positions, join international teams or work abroad.
Yes, all language courses can be attended completely online. You learn live with experienced instructors, communicate in real time and benefit from digital learning platforms with exercises, audio files and vocabulary trainers. This allows you to combine location-independent learning with personal support.
Our language courses are AZAV-certified and eligible for funding via education vouchers, the Qualification Opportunities Act or subsidies from the German Pension Insurance. Job centers and employers also often support the acquisition of job-relevant language skills. We can advise you individually on all funding options.
General language courses focus on grammar, vocabulary and everyday communication. Job-specific courses teach technical language, phrases and forms of expression for specific sectors – such as business, care, technology or administration. So you learn exactly what you really need on the job.
Yes, you can continue directly to the next language level or prepare for a language certificate. Many participants move on to advanced learning modules after a basic or advanced course in order to develop and actively maintain their language skills in the long term.
English remains the most important foreign language in almost all sectors – from business and IT to medicine and tourism. German is also increasingly in demand as a foreign language for international specialists, as well as French and Spanish for positions with a European focus.
Italian and Polish are also becoming increasingly important in trade, logistics and industry. If you also have Chinese or Arabic, you can stand out in export-oriented companies or international projects.
In general, any additional foreign language expands your professional opportunities and demonstrates intercultural competence – a clear advantage in the global working environment.
